Nissan’s budget EV “Wave” has been spotted on public roads for the first time, with a reported target price that could put it among the cheapest battery-powered cars in the automaker’s lineup. Spy photos published September 1 show a camouflaged compact electric hatchback road-testing in Europe. Reports say it should sit below the Micra in Nissan’s European EV range and arrive in the first half of 2027, with pricing expected under $25,000 (about €20,000) before subsidies. The Wave is rumored to use Renault-Nissan’s AmpR Small platform, pairing an LFP 27.5 kWh battery with a single 60 kW motor for up to 163 miles WLTP.
