Police name Springburn biker who died in early hours road crash

Police in Glasgow have identified a motorcyclist who died in an early-hours crash in the north of the city. Steven Carlton, 47, was driving a black Honda CMX 500 when the bike crashed on Springburn Road at about 04:35 on Tuesday. Emergency services were called to the scene, but Carlton, who lived in Springburn, was pronounced dead there. Investigators said inquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the collision. Authorities urged anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the motorcycle beforehand, or has dash-cam footage to come forward. Sgt Chris McColm emphasized the time of the crash, noting the road was not particularly busy.
