The driver, Alliyah, posted about discovering the compressor after repeated trips to gas stations to add air during winter problems. She said she was unaware that hybrid Accords and related models (including hybrid Civics) come with an air-inflation system paired with sealant rather than a traditional spare. According to the account, the automatic inflator is intended to enable a temporary fix for a flat, and the vehicles include a user guide with instructions for dealing with tire damage. The report also notes that some 2023+ Toyota Prius models have repair kits, and that Kia has offered compressors in models including the EV6, EV9, Niro and Fore.
