Rainy weather doesn't stop Bikers for Barkers charity ride
Rainy weather didn’t stop riders from participating in a local motorcycle charity ride for animals in need. Dozens of motorcyclists took to the road Sunday for the annual Bikers for Barkers event despite rain, starting at Roundhouse Harley-Davidson in Blair County before traveling a route of more than 100 miles. The ride benefits the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, with all proceeds supporting the shelter and its animals. Before the group departed, Studio 814 co-host Devyn Amigh performed the national anthem. Organizers said the weather had little effect on attendance, and quoted Sabrina Brickner, president of the board for the humane society, noting riders would still show up to support the cause or donate even if they opted not to ride in the rain. After finishing the ride, participants returned for a chicken dinner to wrap up the event.
