Redesigned Play Store is coming to cars with Google built-in

Google is updating the Play Store for cars with Google built-in, starting this week and rolling out over the coming weeks. The app layout will automatically adjust to the size and layout of a vehicle’s screen, and the homepage will highlight featured apps to make downloading simpler. Google says a “streamlined navigation” menu will place “Apps,” “Games,” “Search,” and “More” along the left side—or the top for vertical displays—of the screen. The update is separate from Android Automotive, which lets manufacturers integrate Google services and native Android apps. Google is also adding new apps such as Starz, Firefox, Ludo King, and JioHotstar, plus parked access to YouTube video and audio during driving for YouTube Premium subscribers.
