Rivian R1S Finally Gets Its 'Most Requested' Interior Feature

Rivian has added a long-awaited cabin feature to the 2027 R1S: second-row captain’s chairs, now available for the first time. The 2027 R1S and R1T see mostly trim and naming changes after Rivian’s larger 2025 refresh. Customers will choose among three trims—Premium, Performance, and Quad—replacing the earlier Dual and Tri structure. Power levels range from 533 hp (Premium) up to 1,025 hp (Quad). Rivian also refreshed interior option names to match the R2, and offers new seat tech on the six-seat captain’s arrangement, including heated cushions and fold-flat cupholders. Pricing starts at $79,990 for the R1T Premium and tops out at $121,990 for the R1S Quad.
