Saudi and Yemeni Airports Hit in New Round of Strikes
Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s capital cities were hit by fresh strikes on Sunday, according to reports that came a day after a deadly attack by Iran-backed Houthi forces on Saudi Arabia’s airport. Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki, a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, said an “unidentified projectile” struck King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, causing a fire and injuries, while Saudi civil aviation said damage assessments were underway and operations had been suspended since Saturday. In Yemen, Houthi-run media reported that Saudi aircraft hit Sanaa’s international airport. The Houthi health ministry said a child was killed in a strike on a residential building in the capital. Saudi airstrikes have killed 91 people since Sept. 3, mostly women and children.
