These vehicles get the worst gas mileage in 2026
A Detroit Free Press review of fuel-economy.gov data was used to identify the worst gas mileage performers for the 2026 model year. The analysis focuses on vehicles with the lowest miles per gallon, excluding supercars to avoid one category dominating the rankings. Among the lowest-efficiency entries are the BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition, rated at 13 city, 18 highway, and 15 combined MPG. The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is listed at 13 city, 18 highway, and 15 combined, while the Mercedes-AMG G63 shows 14 city, 16 highway, and 15 combined under a mild-hybrid update. Rolls-Royce gas models are given at 12 city, 19 highway, and 14 combined, based on a BMW-derived V12 engine. Other poor performers include the Dodge Durango Hellcat (12/17/13), the Cadillac Escalade V (11/17/13), and Ferrari Purosangue (11/15/12). Ford’s Mustang GTD is listed at 10/17/12, along with the Ram 1500 TRX (10/14/12) and Ford F-150 Raptor R (10/15/12).
