This one's for you Mama' - Ghana's Bonsu Baah living dream at FIFA World Cup
Ghana’s Christopher Bonsu Baah, 21, is reliving a childhood dream at the 2026 FIFA World Cup as one of the squad’s youngest players. At the tournament in North America, the Al Qadsiah winger is preparing to face Colombia in the Round of 32 after Ghana finished as a top third-place team. His path has been shaped by hardship, including a childhood in Kumasi where his family struggled financially. He has said he was often hungry and relied on football as an escape, while his mother pushed him to pursue trials in Europe as a teenager. He faced a major personal loss when his mother died suddenly while he was in Spain, and he could not return for the funeral. He later moved from Norway to Genk in Belgium and signed for Al Qadsiah in July last year, now ready under coach Carlos Queiroz.
