This woman rode a motorcycle around the world solo

French journalist Anne-France Dautheville is described as the first known woman to complete a solo motorcycle trip around the world. Born in Paris in 1944, she started riding motorcycles in the late 1960s and eventually logged more than 20,000 miles across three continents on a 125cc Kawasaki. The journey began as an escape from conventional life in Paris, and her reporting and writing afterward focused on the freedom and independence that solo travel can bring. Dautheville continued riding throughout her life and published books that highlight women traveling alone outside traditional gender roles. Now in her 80s, she still writes, gives interviews, and participates in literary events.
