A Topeka man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Chase County on Thursday, according to Kansas Highway Patrol reports. Troopers said the crash occurred at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 on northbound I-35 near mile marker 105. The rider was traveling north when a tire blew out, causing the 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle to hit a barrier wall. The motorcycle then skidded along the highway for about 100 feet before coming to rest in a grassy area off the right shoulder. The KHP said the 26-year-old was wearing protective gear and was transported to an Emporia hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
