Trackhouse secures historic 1-2 as Raul Fernandez prevails in Assen MotoGP Sprint race
Trackhouse secured a historic 1-2 in the Assen MotoGP Sprint as Raul Fernandez took victory for his second sprint win of the season. Fernandez moved from fourth to first, established the lead in the early stages, and then held off the rest of the field to finish 0.4s ahead of Ai Ogura, who repeated his second-place start position. The race featured an Aprilia-dominant opening: Aprilia locked out the first four positions into Turn 1 for the first time in MotoGP history, with Ogura briefly leading before Jorge Martin reclaimed first at Turn 3. Two major overtakes came at the final corner and next lap, where Fernandez passed Martin for the lead while di Giannantonio moved into third ahead of Ogura. Later, Martin made a control mistake that allowed Ogura and di Giannantonio to overtake. Ducati riders Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia finished sixth and seventh. Enea Bastianini was the top KTM finisher in eighth, with Pedro Acosta taking ninth and Fabio Quartararo completing the top 10. Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller and Joan Mir retired.
