V-Green, EVNHANOI to install 10,000 EV battery swapping cabinets in Hanoi

V-Green Global Charging Station Development JSC and EVNHANOI (Hanoi Power Corporation) have signed an agreement to deploy up to 10,000 battery swapping cabinets for electric motorbikes across Hanoi. The cooperation deal, signed on June 18, targets construction, installation and operation of a swapping network spanning 126 communes and wards in the Vietnamese capital. V-Green will use EVNHANOI’s 16,000 existing substation locations to install between 7,000 and 10,000 cabinets, and both sides will also pilot installations at transformers, feeder pillars and lampposts. EVNHANOI will provide power sources and handle direct power purchase agreements and electrical maintenance, while V-Green will fund the cabinets and related equipment and ensure compliance with technical and fire-safety standards. The partners will coordinate load-shifting during peak heatwaves to protect overall energy security. V-Green said it plans to complete deployment of 60,000 VinFast motorbike swapping cabinets across 34 provinces and cities by the second quarter of this year.
