Volvo Just Made Charging Your EV Way Easier
Volvo has introduced Plug & Charge for its electric vehicles, allowing drivers to start and pay for charging automatically once they plug in. The feature is now available on the Volvo EX90 SUV, with availability planned for the Volvo EX60 later this year. Volvo says the EX60 will offer up to 400 miles of range and can reach up to 370-kilowatt peak charging speed, though its peak on a 400-volt Tesla charger is expected to be about 120 kW due to inverter conversion requirements. EX90 can use Tesla chargers with a CCS-to-NACS adapter. Plug & Charge for Volvo will also work at IONNA locations in the US, which currently use 400 kW stalls and are positioned around a 16-minute 10%–80% charging time. Built-in Google Automotive System and the Volvo Cars App will help locate stations and plan routes.
