What Tesla's Autopilot and Full Self-Driving actually do

Tesla outfits every new vehicle with Autopilot as standard, along with an optional upgrade called Full Self-Driving Capability. Despite the names, Tesla says both are meant to support a driver who stays attentive, not replace one. Autopilot includes Traffic Aware Cruise Control, which matches speed to surrounding traffic, and Autosteer for steering within clearly marked lanes. For European and Middle Eastern vehicles, including the Cybertruck, Model 3, and Model Y, Tesla relies entirely on its camera-based system instead of radar. Full Self-Driving Capability adds Auto Lane Change, Autopark, and summon features, plus beta offerings like Navigate on Autosteer and Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control that require driver confirmation. Tesla stresses that driver hands and readiness remain necessary whenever systems engage.
