Woman dead, man and three children injured following crash on local highway
A fatal two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 26 south of Ririe left one woman dead and four people injured, according to Idaho State Police. The incident occurred late Saturday afternoon at about 4:26 p.m., when a westbound 2017 Honda Accord sedan driven by a 44-year-old Idaho Falls woman attempted a left turn and was struck by a westbound 2007 Toyota Tundra pickup. The pickup was driven by a 37-year-old man from Ammon and carried three juvenile passengers. The woman died at the scene; the man and the three juveniles were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Police said everyone in the Toyota was wearing a seat belt, while the woman in the Accord was not. The highway was partially blocked for about three hours and the crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
