Worth of beef stolen from cargo truck in Northeast Philly

Philadelphia police are looking for thieves who stole about $10,000 worth of beef from a cargo truck in the Wissinoming section early Thursday morning. Just after 4 a.m., officers were called to Devereaux Street near I-95 for a reported cargo theft. Investigators said the robbers cut the rear padlock on a trailer and removed five pallets of beef from inside while the driver slept in the truck. The driver recorded video on a phone as the suspects fled in a dark gray Nissan sedan and two dark-colored SUVs. Authorities are also investigating a separate Tuesday heist in Southwest Philadelphia, when $3,000 of frozen snow crab was taken.
