Year-Old Motorcycle Star Tragically Killed Following Multi-Bike Accident

Bayne “the Train” Nantz, a 15-year-old amateur flat-track motorcycle racer from Colorado, died after a multi-bike crash at the Peoria TT event on August 22, 2026. During a heat race, Nantz was involved in a severe collision and was taken to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center, where he was treated for critical traumatic brain and internal injuries. Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins said the incident appears to be a “tragic racing accident” that occurred during the event. Nantz held on for a week and a half before passing away on September 1, 2026. His family also honored his wishes by donating his organs through Gift of Hope.
