Ship runs aground in Strait of Hormuz after taking unauthorised route, says Iran

Iranian state television in Tehran reported that a ship ran aground in the Strait of Hormuz while using a route not approved by Iran. Since then, Tehran has restricted passage, though Iran and the United States agreed to allow unhindered sailing for 60 days. Iran says it must control routes and later charge fees, which the U.S. and many Gulf states reject; attacks followed an effort to open a new route near Oman’s shore last weekend.
