Stranger Things prequel series is coming to Netflix in 2028

Netflix is moving forward with a live-action Stranger Things prequel titled Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure, set to debut in 2028. The streaming service has released limited details, but confirmed the story takes place in the 1950s—before both the original series and the stage production Stranger Things: The First Shadow. A teaser announcement places the plot in Marion, Nevada in 1955, beginning with an abandoned bicycle fitted with a radio before cutting to a “restricted area” sign and a dramatic boom. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer return as executive producers, with Kate Trefry as co-creator, showrunner and writer. Joe Wright will direct the first three episodes. Netflix also noted updates for The First Shadow and the animated spinoff Tales from ’85.
