Welcoming' town in Sussex that is loved by popular Hollywood film star
Littlehampton in West Sussex—an Arun district seaside town—mixes history, beaches, and family activities, and it’s also been publicly linked to Hollywood actor Tom Hardy. The town sits on the English Channel on the east bank at the mouth of the River Arun. Its earliest roots go back to prehistoric and Roman times, with the Domesday Book listing it as “Hantone.” The name shifted to Littlehampton between 1610 and 1695. A railway and a ferry to Honfleur, France helped it develop as a holiday destination, and in the 1920s it became known as “The Children’s Paradise.” Today, visitors can enjoy East and West Beaches, escape rooms, crazy golf, and nature areas like West Beach, designated in 1995 as a Local Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest. Hardy has been spotted at Harbour Park playing arcade games, and also elsewhere in Sussex.
