Welsh TV star going to Greece to live barefoot after addiction nearly killed him

Mathew Pritchard, the 53-year-old Welsh reality TV star known for MTV’s Dirty Sanchez, says he’s celebrating four years of sobriety on Oct. 6. After decades of partying—including a period when he reportedly drank four bottles of wine nightly and took morphine and codeine each morning—he now plans a radical lifestyle change: moving to Greece to live barefoot, grow his own organic food, and wear organic cotton. He credits his fiancé Ciara and his sobriety, while admitting he nearly relapsed after his dog Lemmy died in May. His addiction peaked during lockdown, culminating in a breakdown on Oct. 6, 2022, after which he went cold turkey.
