Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan, 72, told Good Morning Britain he wants wider access to focal therapy after speaking about his prostate cancer journey. Diagnosed in 2019, Duncan was initially offered a prostate-removal procedure but sought an alternative and found focal therapy. He said the treatment is less invasive than surgery and can reduce side effects, but it’s only available for some patients. ITV’s Kate Garraway noted prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, linked to about 12,000 deaths annually. Duncan said focal therapy is performed using ultrasound, targeting cancerous cells rather than unnecessary tissue. Coverage depends on postcode, and only 1,000 people can access it.
