Clinical Trial for an Oral Drug to Treat Ebola is Registered in the Pan African Clinical Trials Database and is Ready to Go, As the Largest Ebola Outbreak Continues to Expand in DR Congo

NanoViricides says its Phase II clinical trial of NV-387 oral gummies for Ebola has been successfully registered in the Pan African Clinical Trials Registry for the ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The trial is listed under the identification number PACTR202608748555077 and will evaluate NV-387 with optimized supportive care in adults, starting with a single-arm safety and dose run-in (Phase IIA) followed by a randomized controlled open-label efficacy component (Phase IIB) with independent blinded endpoint adjudication. Professor Patrick de Marie Chimusa Katoto is named principal investigator, and the company received permission from local regulator ACOREP to begin the Phase II program. NV-387 gummies were shipped to and received at the trial site in Ituru province last week, with initial dosing expected within one to two weeks.
