Fugitive doctor on run for 21 years was living as an L.A. biotech executive

Fugitive doctor case remains centered on how Ronald L. Fischer allegedly lived for decades under biotech cover while evading justice. The 70-year-old was arrested last week after U.S. Marshals intercepted his 56-foot sailing yacht, The Silver Lining, off New Jersey’s coast. Investigators said Fischer had been wanted since 2005, when he fled Rhode Island during a trial over allegations he raped a woman aboard another yacht, Lion King, in 2003. He was convicted in absentia of first-degree sexual assault. Officials reported Fischer used more than a dozen aliases, including Richard Graydon, under which he allegedly built a biotechnology career. Immix Biopharma identified Graydon as its chief medical officer and disclosed he was terminated on July 17, around the time of Fischer’s capture. The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the FBI provided new leads; Coast Guard and marshals coordinated after 48 hours of analysis.
