How to watch: Ramsey County Attorney completes reviews of 6 cases involving embattled ex-medical examiner
How to watch: Ramsey County Attorney completes reviews of 6 cases involving embattled ex-medical examiner focuses on a scheduled announcement related to former Ramsey County medical examiner Michael McGee. The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office said it has reviewed six cases involving McGee, whose autopsy work in murder cases has faced scrutiny for years. McGee served for 34 years, from 1985 to 2019, and assisted in cases for more than a dozen Minnesota counties and some in Wisconsin. In 2021, a federal judge criticized McGee’s testimony in the Alfonso Rodriguez case, in which Rodriguez was convicted in the 2003 murder of Dru Sjodin, and the judge said his testimony was unreliable and misleading; Rodriguez’s death sentence was overturned as a result. Prosecutor John Choi launched a review of 215 autopsies in 2021 and a deep dive into seven. Results for six will be announced Tuesday, June 23, at 11 a.m.
