Immunotherapy Added to Standard Treatment Shows Early Promise Against
A retrospective observational study from Beijing Fengtai You'anmen Hospital reports early signals that adding the anti–PD-1 humanized antibody pucotenlimab to standard radiochemotherapy may improve outcomes for adults with high-grade gliomas. Published in BMC Cancer, the analysis included 25 patients with histologically confirmed WHO grade III and IV tumors treated with the “triple combination” between April 2023 and October 2025. The objective response rate was 36%, with nine patients showing tumor shrinkage, while disease control reached 92% (23 of 25). Median progression-free survival was 9.4 months and median overall survival 15.2 months. Roughly 32% of cases involved brainstem lesions, where responses were also observed. Researchers emphasize the single-center, uncontrolled design and call for larger prospective trials.
