Selma Blair Accused of Biting Flight Attendant; Lawyers Blame Missed Medication and Head Injury
Actress Selma Blair pleaded not guilty to two second-degree assault charges tied to an alleged Delta Airlines incident, her lawyers said stemmed from missed medication and a head injury. Blair, 54, entered the plea on Monday, 12 October, after her arrest at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport the previous evening. State charges concern alleged attacks on a police officer and a nurse after landing; she was released on bail. Defense attorney Shawn Barnes told the Queens arraignment that Blair missed several doses of medication for severe neurological symptoms, worked long hours, and fell during the flight, striking her head, leading to severe confusion. Police said Delta Flight 938 from Los Angeles reached the gate at about 11pm on 11 October and that two flight attendants were injured, with one taken for evaluation. The complaint also describes separate allegations after landing, and reports mention a federal violation notice without an appearance date.
