The program will focus on how local workforce education can address the ongoing conflict between national nursing shortages and the need to keep full-service emergency care available in isolated communities. Daniels Memorial is developing a new hospital to expand capacity and modernize services, while emphasizing data diversity, telemedicine, and local student pipeline development to reduce reliance on costly contract labor. Kody Brinton said the goal is sustaining emergency, primary, long-term, and telemedicine care close to home.
