Millie Bobby Brown Shares How Monks Helped Crippling Anxiety
Millie Bobby Brown said monks helped interrupt a cycle of severe anxiety after a period in which she experienced an anxiety attack that lasted three months. The Stranger Things star shared the details during an appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, describing a trip to Japan with her husband, Jake Bongiovi, where she met monks who guided her in managing her condition. She said sitting with the monks helped calm her and that the encounter felt especially meaningful. Brown linked the start of her anxiety to an incident in which she and her security team were chased for about 20 minutes by an unknown party. During the Japan visit, she and her husband were meditating at a temple with 50 other people, where a monk encouraged them to meditate. She said the visit took place on her husband’s birthday.
