Nurse who won £3.9m Lotto jackpot with husband gives back to hospital

Lucy Waring, 48, a former nurse, and her husband Jon, 58, returned to Torbay Hospital in Devon to help paint the hospital’s dementia unit—just 12 months after winning £3.9 million in the Lottery Lotto. The couple, from Paignton, also donated a piano for the ward, where volunteers often play music for staff and dementia patients. Waring spent the final phase of her 27-year nursing career there and said the unit holds a special place in her heart. Jon discovered the win on May 31 last year. Since then, they bought an Audi Q7, a Harley Davidson Trike, and a hot tub, and moved to a larger home, while giving away about £430,000.
