Outdoor Guernsey pool to reopen after sewage overflow
xCruzo Brief
Guernsey’s Ladies’ Pool at La Vallette is set to reopen after authorities closed it due to a sewage overflow from the site’s toilets. The States of Guernsey said Environmental Health directed the closure on 2 September after tests found foul drainage from the toilet area in public sections and near the pool. The Bathing Pools charity, which oversees the facility, previously said the cesspit serving both the public toilets and the cafe had “overfilled.” On Friday, it announced that Environmental Health officers were satisfied that the toilets for the public and cafe “pose no further risk to water quality at the Ladies’ Pool.” The pool is expected to reopen on Wednesday.
