Sandra Sue Lindsey Appling, Bowling Green

Sandra Sue Lindsey Appling, 83, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, died at the Medical Center in Bowling Green on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Born August 2, 1943, in Bowling Green to Ollie B. Keown Phelps Lindsey and Clyde Lindsey, she graduated from Bowling Green High School and later Western Kentucky University, earning an Associate of Applied Science, a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education, and a Master of Arts in Health Education. She married Robert Cary Appling on June 21, 1963, and they shared 63 years together. Her career included work with Dr. George Ransdell Sr., and leadership roles at Bowling Green Technical College and related KCTCS appointments. She was involved with Broadway United Methodist Church, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and was named a Kentucky Colonel.
