Sara L. Johnson, EdD, named president-elect of the SNMMI Technologist Section
Sara L. Johnson, EdD, has been named president-elect of the SNMMI Technologist Section, marking a leadership milestone. She is a PET/CT technologist at Florida Cancer Specialists in Brandon, Florida, and teaches at Gurnick Academy. The SNMMI revealed its 2026-27 officers at the Los Angeles meeting (May 30–June 2), signaling a push to expand technologist roles in molecular imaging. Johnson holds a BS in Nuclear Medicine Technology (Wheeling Jesuit University, 2002), an MA in Education (2010), and an EdD in Curriculum and Assessment (2023). Her career spans staff technologist work at the Cleveland Clinic and leadership roles in program management and education, with 25 years in SNMMI-TS. She chairs the SNMMI-TS Professional Development and Education Fund and serves on the Executive Board and several committees.
