Small AI Company Just Took the Stage at One of the Biggest Events in Computing, and It Points to Where Drug Discovery Is Headed
Small AI companies are increasingly taking the spotlight in drug discovery, and MindWalk Holdings Corp. made a first public splash at AMD’s Advancing AI 2026 in San Francisco. At the event hosted by Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD), the Bio-Native AI firm demonstrated ReefIQ™, describing it as a biological context layer for AI drug discovery rather than a larger model. The company said ReefIQ was shown publicly for the first time, running on AMD Instinct, and was featured in the AMD Instinct Demo Showcase within one of four custom demo vignettes. MindWalk introduced ReefIQ in June 2026, positioning it between a client’s discovery data and AI reasoning workflows. The broader field’s investor focus includes Recursion Pharmaceuticals, Absci, Tempus AI and NVIDIA.
