Health officials in Maryland confirmed additional measles activity in St. Mary’s County, issuing an exposure notice covering three locations and dates in mid-to-late July. In an update dated 7/22/2026, the Maryland Department of Health said two cases of measles were identified in Southern Maryland residents after recent travel to a U.S. site experiencing an active outbreak. Officials warned residents to review potential exposure sites and ensure their measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations are up to date. The notice listed possible exposure at J&R Feeds LLC in Mechanicsville on July 16–21, MedStar Health Urgent Care in Charlotte Hall on July 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., and MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Room in Leonardtown on July 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. People present during those windows were advised to monitor for symptoms for 21 days and to contact healthcare providers before seeking care.
