Everything Sprouts recalled certain lots of alfalfa sprouts after illnesses tied to the product were reported across 15 states. The company, based in Minneapolis, said it is working with public health officials to investigate the potential contamination source. Federal officials said the sprouts may be contaminated with E. coli or salmonella. As of Aug. 24, CDC reported 55 illness cases linked to alfalfa sprouts, including two cases involving both pathogens; seven were linked to salmonella and 46 to E. coli. Four hospitalizations were reported and there were no deaths so far. The recalled sprouts were distributed from May 27, 2026, to Aug. 21, 2026, to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
