Chisago County man used spike strip to keep children off his lawn, charges say
xCruzo Brief
A 39-year-old man from Wyoming, Minnesota, is accused in Chisago County of using a spike strip-like spring-loaded device to keep children off his lawn. The complaint says police received a report about spikes near Goodview Park on April 28 after a resident at the nearest house allegedly yelled at children to stay out. Officers found a 3-foot-long, 5-inch-wide sheet of clear plastic in the grass, anchored so that about 40 3-inch screws stuck straight up at roughly one-inch spacing. The defendant allegedly admitted placing it to scare kids, saying he yelled “hundreds of times” and that bikes cut through his yard “out of spite.” His initial court appearance is set for Aug. 25.
