Yandy Díaz backed up his claim with a decisive performance as the Tampa Bay Rays reached the World Series again. In Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on Monday night, Díaz and Junior Caminero hit two-run homers, while Freddy Peralta pitched 5 1/3 innings as the Rays defeated the Cleveland Guardians 7-3. The result gave Tampa Bay its third pennant in 29 seasons. The Rays will face the NL champion Milwaukee Brewers, which swept the Dodgers in the NLCS, starting with Game 1 Friday night in Milwaukee. Díaz’s 416-foot homer off Hunter Gaddis in the eighth broke things open with a four-run lead. Peralta, the ALCS MVP, allowed one run and five hits and improved to 2-0 in the series.
