Fishing trip off Tybee Island took an intense turn when a great white shark lunged toward a passenger
A fishing trip off Tybee Island, Georgia took an intense turn when a great white shark lunged toward a passenger reaching over the edge of a boat, according to The New York Post. The encounter occurred during a research expedition organized by Knot Lucky Fishing, a Savannah-based nonprofit that runs free trips for military veterans, active service members and their families. In a viral video, a veteran named Jen placed a hand on the shark before it thrashed and surged toward her arm. Knot Lucky Fishing founder Jimmy Armel said the crew kept control of the situation and the passenger was never in actual danger. The outing was part of the White Shark Tagging Program with Starbrite, Project SeaSafe and Gray FishTag Research, and the shark was released without a tag for safety reasons.
