Golf Ireland's Ronan Murray selected as R&A Golf Club Scholar - Irish Golfer Magazine
Golf Ireland congratulated Ronan Murray after his selection as one of the latest recipients of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club Scholarship. The Blainroe player is among 11 young people worldwide chosen through a competitive international application process, now in its third year. The scholarship aims to identify, support and develop emerging leaders committed to shaping golf’s future, and Murray currently works with Golf Ireland on research and data insights. He plans to combine training in statistics and data science with his role in golf, with long-term ambitions to become an international strategic decision-maker. Each recipient receives a support package including up to £10,000 per year for educational costs, £5,000 annually for golf-related activities, mentorship from an R&A member, a peer network, and an invitation to an annual leadership conference in St Andrews. This year’s scholars include representatives from Ghana, Tanzania, China and Romania, alongside others from Australia, Canada, the UK, the USA and Ireland.
