Johns Creek mother killed in murder-suicide remembered as a kind soul
The Johns Creek, Georgia community is rallying to support three children after police said their father shot and killed their mother, then took his own life, on June 7. Community members are raising thousands of dollars and planning a new charitable foundation in memory of Martha Holladay. Police said Richard Holladay shot Martha Holladay inside the family home on North Hillbrooke Trace before dying by suicide; the couple’s three sons, ages 12, 15 and 17, were inside during the shooting. An online fundraiser has surpassed $50,000 in donations, and another report said it had nearly reached $55,000. Investigators have not released a motive. A family friend, Jennifer Cluthe, said the children are “doing okay” and that investigators and organizers plan to launch a nonprofit called “Live Like Martha.”
