Lam Research Nearly Triples in a Year: Is the Stock Still Worth Buying?
Lam Research’s stock has surged 192.8% over the past 12 months, nearly tripling as demand for AI-related semiconductor equipment has boosted spending. The article says the move outpaced the Zacks Electronics–Semiconductor industry’s 35.3% growth and also exceeded returns from several peers, including Applied Materials (+180.6%), Amkor Technology (+92.4%) and Broadcom (+3.6%). It frames the upside case around Lam Research’s role in the chipmaking supply chain, supplying advanced etch and deposition tools used by major manufacturers such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and Samsung. The company expects advanced packaging revenues to grow more than 70% in 2026 after strong 2025 momentum and reports generating more than $5 billion in revenue for five straight quarters, including $6.72 billion in Q4 fiscal 2026.
