Man United to launch new role to deal with controversial problem "plaguing" the club
Manchester United is advertising a new post aimed at tackling ticket touting, a problem the club says has “plagued” it for years. According to reporting by the Manchester Evening News, United is intensifying efforts by posting a vacancy for a “Supporter Escalations Executive.” The role, listed on the club’s official website, would lead investigations into tickets and their distribution. Responsibilities include managing a high volume of complex supporter cases, handling sanctions, appeals and escalations, and using AI, technology and spreadsheet-based data analysis to spot patterns and emerging risks. The position is primarily based at Old Trafford and will serve as a first point of contact for fans. United has banned 685 supporters, and the policy has sparked controversy and demonstrations, including during last month’s Manchester derby.
