McErlean fifth at Rally Greece as Evans charge stalls
McErlean finished fifth at Rally Greece, but the key story was Elfyn Evans’ rally stalled by a puncture on Saturday’s final stage. Evans leads the World Rally Championship standings with co-driver Scott Martin and was targeting fourth place versus Josh McErlean when he stopped to change a tyre and lost just under two minutes. That dropped the Wales driver to sixth heading into Sunday’s final four stages, behind Toyota team-mate Sami Pajari. McErlean remains fifth and is still set for his best WRC finish, sitting only one second off the top four, despite losing fourth to Adrien Fourmaux on the last stage. At the front, Thierry Neuville and Sebastien Ogier contest victory, with Neuville leading by 4.1 seconds. Takamoto Katsuta and Aaron Johnston hold third, while Jon Armstrong is 22nd after a Friday retirement.
