Red Sox Make Decision on Recent Call-Up Anthony Seigler Before Yankees Game

The Boston Red Sox made a lineup call on utility infielder Anthony Seigler ahead of the Yankees series, starting him Saturday at second base for the third game of a four-game set. Interim manager Chad Tracy decided on Seigler after his recall from Triple-A Worcester on June 20, giving him his eighth consecutive start and his third straight appearance against the Yankees. Seigler is hitting .321/.367/.429 in nine 2026 games and has a 125 OPS+. The Red Sox, 13½ games behind first place with the All-Star break approaching, needed production at second base after placing Nick Sogard on the injured list with an oblique strain.
