Dicky Pride won the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open in Endicott, New York, beating Padraig Harrington on the first playoff hole with a final round 65 (-7). Pride closed the event at 18-under 198 after Harrington shot 66 at En-Joie Golf Club and missed the 18th fairway in the playoff. His other PGA Tour Champions title was the Mitsubishi Electric Classic five years ago. Harrington’s par putt from 10 feet slid past, and Pride prevailed after the first extra hole. In the finish, Matt Gogel (65) was one shot behind the playoff, while John Daly (72) tied at 8-under 208, and Tag Ridings (68) at 7-under 209. Ken Duke (66) finished at 5-under 211. Separately, Chacarra Eugenio Chacarra captured a second consecutive European Tour title, winning the Italian Open in Torino by five shots with a 7-under 64, earning a spot at the British Open at Royal Birkdale next month.
