Ryu marks return with 1st major win: Haeran Ryu rebounded from a shaky start to claim her first career major title, winning the Women’s PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. On a windy Sunday, she shot a 2-under 70 to finish 13-under 275, two strokes ahead of Ina Yoon. The 25-year-old, the 2023 LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year, became the sixth South Korean to win the event in the last 12 editions. She also overcame a 10-plus-shot deficit after the first round, the first major-champion doing so in at least 60 years. Brooke Henderson and Dewi Weber tied for third at 10 under, while Allisen Corpuz, Auston Kim and Alison Lee were fifth at 5 strokes back. Nelly Korda closed with a 73 and was tied for eighth. A thunderstorm delayed tee times by 3 1/2 hours, leaving greens soft and play gusty.
