There to perform': Kiss addresses Beale call-up
xCruzo Brief
Les Kiss said Kurtley Beale is being considered for Australia’s Rugby World Cup squad after his surprise recall for the Wallabies’ UK spring tour. Beale was called in to cover the three Tests in November against England, Scotland and Wales, followed by the Nations Championship finals starting November 21-23. The move follows Hunter Paisami’s withdrawal for personal reasons, giving Beale—who has 95 caps—a chance to play in the green and gold for the first time since 2021. Kiss insists Beale’s return is about competition for the No. 10 role as Australia chooses a flyhalf for next year’s home World Cup. He added that back-rower Tom Hooper is now cleared after injury scans, and noted Australia begins with England on November 8 (Nov. 9 AEDT).
