Tom Cruise Announces 'Days of Thunder' Sequel With Anne Hathaway, Reveals Premiere Date
Tom Cruise unveiled that he’s returning to “Days of Thunder” with a sequel planned for summer 2028, sharing the news on Instagram on Aug. 29. The 64-year-old posted a photo at Daytona International Speedway with pregnant Anne Hathaway standing beside a neon-green race car, and followed up with video confirming Hathaway, 43, as his co-star. In the clips, they joke about timing the production around her pregnancy, with Hathaway saying, “I’m gonna have this baby, and then we’re gonna make this movie,” referencing her third child with husband Adam Shulman. Cruise reiterated, “We’re coming out summer of 2028.” Variety reports the film will be shot for IMAX and released exclusively in theaters, including Dolby Cinema and 4DX. Cruise will reprise Cole Trickle, with Jonathan Levine directing and Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper producing.
